The manual dock leveler solves this problem quickly by performing that exact task that its name suggests: leveling the height difference between a truck bed and a dock platform. The dock leveler, also often called a dockboard, is material handling equipment that, via the simple use of a pull chain, does away with the unevenness between truck beds and loading dock platforms. With this accomplished, your forklifts can come into play, unloading the truck considerably faster than several workers could manually and, of course, with no physical strain on workers caused by repeated lifting.

The manual dock leveler's loading ramp function, coupled with the use of dock truck restraints or wheel chocks, works excellently to prevent potentially dangerous gaps from being created by repeated forklift crossings from truck bed to dock platform and vice-versa.
